Happy New Year From The Transition
Written by The Transition on 19/01/2021
Happy New Year! We hope you’re all ready and set for 2021? On our last show, we discussed how we plan to set goals and attack the year to ensure we complete them. So, we ask, how do you set goals? Are you a long-term goal planner? Or maybe you like to focus on the short-term? Or both? Our team found that we are a mix of the two, and you know, whatever works for you is fine… or is it?
We all have our individual methods when it comes to setting goals, but what does God say regarding this? Do you involve God in your goals? When it comes to setting goals with God, we must seek His guidance and submit to His will. ” Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.” Proverbs 3:6 NLT. We also need to apply certain biblical keys or principals when it comes to our goals. We need to have faith in that God is the be or end-all, there is nothing God cannot do. “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed.” Psalm 20:4. We know from the Bible that faith without works is dead, so remember the key principles of committing to our goals, being diligent, plan plan plan, and find your best way of staying motivated! ” “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 NIV. These are biblical principles, that amongst others should be applied to your goals. “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” Proverbs 21:5.
As well as goal setting, in the new year, we thought of purity and what it means to us. Purity is something that we tend to run away from, as its probably one of the nerve-wracking, difficult things to work on throughout your life. Every year we hear a New Year’s resolution of a cleanse or commitment to working on our spiritual journey. Purity is also a part of that journey. Purity is getting away from old habits and walking into new ones. Especially the ones in line with Gods word. “How can a young person stay pure? By obeying your word.” Psalm 119:9 NLT. When it comes to purity, we tend to think of the sexual side of it which is important, but there is more to it. Purity is a lifestyle. It is freedom from contamination in all areas of life, and it describes who you are and who you do. The journey of purity is a marathon, and it is something that must be done transparently. There is no hiding when it comes to purity, we must be accountable and honest with our journey.
Purity is important, and everyone can only benefit from it. Working on purity helps you with making good and Godly choices. It turns you to godliness and honours God’s word. It gives you an understanding of how to love others and govern your relationship with others. Be it sexual or not, when it comes to purity, you need to navigate what it means you, and the benefits it will have on not just your life, but everyone else around you.
We have faith that 2021 will be a year of greatness, so let us plan well, let God in, and attack it!
